BnA Hotel Koenji is a new art-focused Tokyo boutique hotel that's part of the renovation of a three-floor building on the north side of Koenji Station.
Koenji is known for its lively counterculture full of cheap 'n cheerful shops, its art and music scenes, and its happening izakayas.
BnA art hotel currently has only two rooms available. The plan is to expand more rooms around the area and become part of the community, turning the whole neighborhood into an art hotel.
Both rooms are designed and built by local Japanese artists in conjunction with architects, textile designers and carpenters - the artists receive a share of the profits from each room booking. Each room can accommodate two guests and come with a private shower, toilet, fridge and free WiFi.
BnA Hotel Koenji also features a bar (which doubles as the Front Desk and serves simple snacky dishes), a tiny art gallery in the basement (that hosts a myriad of art events and exhibitions) and a rooftop terrace (that is open to the public during the day).
The hotel, and the concept, are certainly unique - it is a great alternative accommodation option for Tokyo art lovers. BnA hotel is located right next to the train station, allowing easy access to the rest of Tokyo.Review updated February 11, 2017
